Rev. Dr. Terry Alexander

Rev. Terry Alexander, a native of Florence, SC, is a graduate of Howard University School of Divinity; Francis Marion University; Doctoral student at Erskine Theological Seminary. He has received an Honorary Doctor of Divinity- St. James Elder Theological Seminary; Two Units in Clinical Pastoral Education, Palmetto Health Alliance; Graduate Institute of Government for County Officials; Graduate South Carolina Economic Developers’ School  

Currently a member of the SC House of Representatives, District #59 where he serves on the “Labor Commence & Industry Committee.” Served as Sub-committee Chair and member of the Medical, Military, Public and Municipal Affairs Committee; a member of the SC Legislative Black Caucus, where he chairs the Religious Affair Committee; former chairman of the Florence County Council and served 16 years on the council; member of the African American Ministers Leadership Council (AAMLC): Past-President Florence Branch NAACP; President of The Black Clergy Network; The Francis Marion Society and many other community organizations and boards… 

He is the Sr. Pastor at Wayside Chapel Baptist Church: The church is affiliated with the Progressive National Baptist Convention, He serves as Vice-Chair of the SC Progressive Fellowship; serves on the Social Action Public Policy Ministry for the PNBC; Chair of the Political Action Commission for the SC Baptist Education and Missionary Convention; an instructor for the SC Baptist Congress of Christian Education; Vice- Moderator St. John Baptist Association.
